I’ve always been a big fan of pictures or let me say for me- “Pictures speak more than words”. I really like the fact that there is so much more that can be conveyed using a picture instead of anything else. Yes, all these pictures are taken by Ashish Bahl who is professional photographer from Delhi, India. I want to thank Ashish for allowing me to use his wonderful work on my blog here, and I’m his self confessed fan not only because he has created so many wonderful images but also because he has set up a real life example for the people who want to follow their dreams. Ashish was born in a typical Indian family where professions other than Engineers and doctors are considered absurd. Well to be really frank, this has been the really pitiful state of all Indian families for long. Despite, that Ashish Bahl stuck to his passion for photography and abandoned his studies in Sciences to move into the most creative world he always knew that is “the world of photography”. INTELLIVOCAB 1.2 IS ON-AIR

Hey there, I just got an update from the Faqden labs that the latest version of the best vocabulary iPhone app is live on the Apple itune store. The newest version is IntelliVocab 1.2 and it is all set for free download on the Apple itunestore.

Few of you who are still thinking what IntelliVocab is? Then let me tell you in brief about it. IntelliVocab is the best and the coolest vocabulary building iPhoneapp, and for me the amazing part is- it’s free!! IntelliVocab is basically an education app for vocabulary building and it is very useful for the people who are trying to improve their English vocabulary or who are preparing for the completive examinations such as GMAT, GRE or SAT. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to review this amazing vocabulary building iPhone app since the time it was launched. Moreover, there have been many people who have inquired about it in the past so in order to just keep everybody in the loop I keep posting the updates on what is happening on that front :) …See I’m so helpful, isn’t it?

In a brief interview from USA, the founder of the Faqden Labs, Irfan, told me that the recent version of IntelliVocab i.e. 1.2 has been launched with few interesting changes in the algorithm for providing users with better opportunities to learn English Vocabulary. There have been few amazing color coding changes to highlight the antonym questions along with the introduction of new “Rate It” feature. In this short interview the founder of the Faqden lab also revealed the staggering figures of IntelliVocab’s recent success. He said- “our app is rated as the top 3 app in the Education category on the Apple’s App-store. We have handsomely defeated the other 34963 apps in education category to reach this amazing feat. It’s amazing because we have achieved this within 2 weeks of our first release”.

So, once again the latest features added to the coolest vocabulary building iPhone app in IntelliVocab 1.2 are:

1. Improved algorithm to mix up the practice words with different characters       
2. Added “Rate It” feature
3. Added color coding to highlight the antonym question

SOMETHING REALLY COOL ABOUT YOUR GMAIL ID

I was just surfing through my GMAIL account and sending few mails, but in the process something unusual happened. When I researched about it, I discovered some really cool information about the GMAIL (Email) Id’s. 

Yes, my dear friends this is sensational. I discovered that Google employs a very unique algorithm for assigning Email Id’s to any unique user using GMAIL account.

Ok, let me first explain how it works and then you can say “thank you” to me.

Basically in simple words....Google algorithm for Email addresses ignores all the periods (“.” Or “dot”) in the Gmail Id’s. Still don’t get it, ok no worries..let me give an example here.

Suppose my email id is- vivek.nanda.1@gmail.com, now you can see that I have two periods in my so called unique Gmail Id (vivek”.”nanda”.”1). One fine day, you are in a hurry and instead of typing in vivek.nanda.1@gmail.com you sent me the mail at viveknanda.1@gmail.com, but do not worry because the email will still come to me as Google’s Email Id algorithm ignores all the periods in the unique Gmail Id. Ok, you still don’t believe then you can try by yourself.

For e.g. your email id is   abc@gmail.com (with no periods in it)

If someone sends a mail at a.b.c@gmail.com it will still be directed to you at abc@gmail.com

If someone sends a mail at a..b..c@gmail.com it will still be directed to you at abc@gmail.com

Isn’t it cool??

 

Personally I’m so relieved to discover this new thing about the Gmail id’s because in a country like India, where the population is over 1.21 billion, the name- “Vivek Nanda” is very common and when I created my Gmail account back then I had to rather give up on finding a good unique email id to stick with an annoying email id with 2 periods in it i.e. vivek.nanda.1@gmail.com. I’m glad, I got a better one now- viveknanda1@gmail.com , this is far more cooooool…..I’m loving it !!

One last thing: Google Apps does recognize dots. If you'd like to have a dot in your username, please ask your domain administrator to add your preferred username as a nickname.

DELHI BELLY- EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC

Bollywood is famous not just for making so many movies each year but also for making some really good music. Indian cinema is turning experimental but I think Bollywood Music is still lagging behind. Yes, it has changed from what it was in the older time, but it hasn’t been as experimental as the movies are.

The recent Bollywood movie to experiment with its music is “Delhi Belly”. The music of the movie is so different. I have to say that I haven’t seen such an experimental music for long now. The music is so cool…I’m loving it!! Good job by the music composers of Delhi Belly.

I thought I would give you all the taste of this latest Bollywood music from the movie “Delhi Belly”. I’m sharing couple of the songs that are becoming a rage these days in India.
