SWINE FLU: THE TEST OF PEOPLE’S FITNESS

Swine Flu death toll has just touched to 27 today in India. In the city of Pune alone the death toll has reached to 15 and in Bangalore, a total of 5 people have been victimized to death by Swine Flu. The picture is looking gloomy but it also raises a question, is the virus attacking everyone and anyone can fall its prey?

The answer to the above question in the most simple, scientific and logical way would be – Yes. The Swine Flu Virus can attack anybody but it’s not necessary that you will suffer the H1N1 Influenza. Let me put light on some of the facts, which reflects a true story.

In India out of the 27 people, who have died approximately 12-14 people have died because of the lack of proper medical remedies been taken against the Swine Flu, which were because of the lack of detection of Swine Flu or late detection by the doctors. Rest of the people, who died are either the old people (50+ years of age) or children below the age of 15.

Now there is a common thing between the people of older age and the children, which is their Immune System. Both the older aged people and children have a similar kind of immunity levels. The children normally have their immunity in a pre-matured stage, which is yet to develop into a full fledged reliable Immune System and on the other hand, aged people have weak immunity, which has deteriorated over the years and is not in the most reliable form. In both the cases, lower fitness and lower immunity are the reasons for victimization to H1N1 Influenza.

One thing is very clear that Immunity is driven from a person’s fitness. A better fitness levels can help an individual gain a reliable immune system. A 20-minutes daily workout of cardiovascular exercises can improve your immune system. By having a better immune system it will be more difficult for you to catch a cold or any other viral diseases for that matter. It’s a necessity to maintain a good fitness level along with good hygiene to fight against viral diseases like Swine Flu. So, hit the gym or start working out on your fitness today. Better fitness leads to better life and for the first time in my life I have realized the true meaning of the statement – The Survival of the Fittest. Hope you too understand it today and live a better life with better fitness from here on.

THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF SWINE FLU IN INDIA

Swine Flu(a.k.a. H1N1 Influenza) has recently started spreading like a fire in India and Pune being the epicenter of this Swine Flu wave has taken the number of infected people almost near to 2000. It has created a fear among the people everywhere in the country, which has resulted in a situation of panic in the various locations all across the nation. The rising death toll, the lack of Swine Flu testing labs, the lack of hospitals and medical centers, and with no signs of vaccination being issued soon, the pandemic is already been declared in India and for that matter all across the globe. It’s a high alert situation in India.

Who would have thought that these medical masks will one day become the fashion statement? But it seems like they are the latest trend. Though, a number of doctors are claiming that medical masks are of no use to a normal person still the sales of such masks are on an all time high and they are in the utmost demand at this point of time.

Yet with all the havoc happening around all across due to Swine Flu and with bleak signs of situation being under control soon, there are still numerous positive things happening in and around us. The Swine Flu has done few very good things to the people of our country.

As people are getting aware about the prevention of the Swine Flu, they have understood significantly the importance of a good hygiene. The panic among the people has grafted a very serious demand of good hygiene in an individual’s life. Everybody now wants to be clean and wants to keep things clean. People who were not washing hands even before having a meal are now washing their hands hourly without any reasons. The shops, the offices and the food courts are now taking special care of cleanliness. Special care is taken for the cleanliness at public places; Clean towels, fresh and clean water supply, and soaps are kept at each basin in the public toilets. Undoubtedly, there are few brownie points scored by Indian eco-system as a whole in cleanliness and hygiene departments.

The other thing which has been positively impacted by Swine Flu is Mannerism. People have all of a sudden become more educated in their manners. In comparison to past when while sneezing they were not even hiding their faces away but I can see everybody making a sincere effort to properly cover their mouths while in a public place or even otherwise. Everybody is holding a handkerchief or a piece of cloth around ones own mouth while coughing. All of a sudden everybody is a bit matured and raised level of their manners.

Today more people are working towards their fitness. People have realized that body’s immunity is going to play a major role in fighting a communicable disease like Swine Flu. They are back to their fitness regimes, they are more aware of the advantages of a fit body and are working hard to achieve it. People are trying to change their bad lifestyles. They are already taking the measures to take the Virus like Swine Flu head against their Immune System.

Since, the out broke of this deadly virus government has certainly got its task cut out. It’s a huge challenge for government to shield a country of 100 crore against a pandemics like Swine Flu. Government is already working hard for measures against the virus, the facilities in government hospitals which were far from government’s concern have become the main agenda today. There have been various important steps taken by government to better the services and facilities at various hospitals and medical centers, and it still continues to do by engaging the private hospitals to fight against the virus. In a way this has improved the government medical facilities all across the country.

Let’s hope we all keep on doing the good things in the same way as we are doing it and soon the Virus will be controlled and cleaned up from our land, for that matter all across the globe.

DAL MAKHANI-MINUS THE MAKHAN

Yes, that’s what I get in my company’s cafeteria – "DAL MAKHANI" without the MAKHAN (butter) in it. Its ironical that how can the caterers in my company cafeteria still claim that DAL as DAL MAKHANI, which doesn't have a droplet of MAKHAN in it. In fact, this has not happened to me for the first time, I have witnessed the same DAL blunder many a times in this part of my country, South India(as I have been working in Hyderabad for past few years now).

Since, I have this habit of BAAL KE KHAAL UTARNE KI (thinking something useless), I started thinking of this DAL blunder too. One thing is very clear that the DAL MAKHANI’s origin is Punjab and this is where the super delicious recipe of this special delicacy was discovered. Soon after the discovery, it became so popular in whole North India that it became the flavor of everybody outside Punjab in other North Indian states as well. Apna golden source of knowledge, search engine Google says the same too – DAL MAKHANI is a type of DAL eaten in India (in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and the Bhojpuri area of Bihar).

So, now I started thinking how it came to South India? Anyways, the answer was much easier to guess as I thought about the very simple logic that it came the same way as did IDLI-DOSA to reach the North India but then I don’t see a missing SAMBAR in IDLI-SAMBAR or in DOSA-SAMBAR in North India such as the missing MAKHAN in DAL MAKHANI. Hmmm strange...so, where is the missing link??

Now I started becoming ultra imaginative about this hidden mystery and guess what I found the answer. I think the person who brought IDLI-DOSA to North India was a South Indian so he knew the recipe correctly and everything went fine, and nothing was missed but the person who brought the recipe of DAL MAKHANI to South India was either a South Indian or a Diet conscious North Indian.

I think the South Indian learnt the recipe of the DAL MAKHANI when he was on his visit to a punjabi friend's house in Delhi and he liked the DAL so much that he learnt the complete recipe but when he returned to his native he forgot the MAKHAN (butter) in the in recipe and yet his new DAL's recipe became so famous that everyone adopted this new kind of DAL in South India, and ironically the name still remained the same -- DAL MAKHANI. If it would have been the other case than certainly, this would be a very diet conscious North Indian who got so much fed up of lots and lots of MAKHAN in the DAL that he decided to tell the recipe of DAL-MAKHANI to his South Indian friends without the butter in it and the name been still told to them the same -- DAL MAKHANI.

So, finally I have convinced myself somehow and I have understand the secret behind the missing MAKHAN in the DAL and from next time onwards it wont bother me too much, when I will see a DAL MAKHANI, minus the MAKHAN !! What do you think??

MORAL FIBER - WHAT IS MORAL FIBER?

What is Moral Fiber? As per one of the definition on the internet --
"The one thing you find that makes you completely happy. The one thing you can't live without. Once you find your moral fiber, you continue to chase after and do whatever it takes to help your moral fiber."

Hmm..what a meaningful set of lines and a simplest of the descriptions to what i would want to interpret as the "Secret to Happyness"( using a "y" instead of "i" in happiness as inspired by the movie "Pursuit of Happyness"). Though it might look easier at once to identify your Moral Fiber but trust me it is not. One big reason why its such a difficult task is because we always have a list of things what we want instead of one single thing, which can make us completely happy and without which there is no life for us. Are you able to think just this one thing now??

The answers could be YES or the answer could be NO. If the answer is YES then you know your Moral Fiber and may be you are already working for it, which is a healthy thing to do as you are clear about the meaning of your life to a large extent and moving closely to the happyness of your life. But if your answer is NO then you dont have a Moral Fiber, you are still a confused personality who does not have a fixed priority in life and you are still searching the answer from thyself about that onething, which really matters to you in life.

There is one another meaningful definition of Moral Fiber which says - "Moral fiber is the capacity to do what is right, no matter what the circumstance". So, it means if somebody offers a bribe to me, I should not take it and do the work in best possible way I can even after declining the bribe. Au contraire, I got reminded of the famous dialogue of the movie "Girl Next Door", which said - "Moral fiber's about finding that one thing you really care about. That one special thing that means more to you than anything else in the world. And when you find it, you fight for it. You risk it all, you put it in front of everything, your life, all of it. And maybe the stuff you do to help her isn't so clean. You know what? It doesn't matter. Because in your heart you know, that the juice is worth the squeeze. That's what moral fiber's all about." Both the statements are in contrast, the former believes in doing the right things, more ethically correct orthodox ways of doing a thing and the later emphasized more on the results than the non-ethical and politically wrong ways of achieving the Moral Fiber. I dont know which one is wrong but what I feel is both conditions are situational, in one I may follow strict ethics and in other I may not.

Moral Fiber is most famously used in America, which is a very correct statement as outside America, people dont even know what it is. American's are so much in obsession with Moral Fibers that they claim - "Moral fiber the core strength of America. Moral fiber is a strong, truthy strength that is found in True Americans. A person with Moral fiber can stand up to anything the liberals of the world can throw at them. People with Moral fiber are always Christians and Republicans. They oppose gay marriage, abortion, peace, and high taxes.".

But I think everybody in life has a Moral Fiber despite of the race, region or cast. Only thing important is how soon an individual realize it or he ever realize it? This is really tricky but almost 85% of the people around the world are not sure of what they want, and they dont have a Moral Fiber and the worst is they dont even realize in their whole lives. Moral fiber can only be achieved by self realization. The sooner we realize, the sooner the life changes and the better life we live. The life filled with satisfaction and grief. So, better find your Moral Fiber soon and live the life of your dreams.
