IPHONE APP TESTING

I think I need not remind anybody about what iPhones are? right ?
I'm kidding, I just wanted to imagine your reaction on reading the first line :-) ....Certainly, IPhone is the coolest device I've ever seen in my life, and I just can't stop applauding Apple Inc and Steve Jobs for gifting mankind with such a wonderful gizmo. Awe-inspiring !! Steve, I'll always remember you throughout my life, you were a true artist and a technology magician, god bless your soul.

Believe it or not, Apple has not just created a super cool gadget for itself, the iPhone, but also created an industry around itself. Thousands of people are employed because of iPhone. Don't believe me? Hold on to it for a while.

Every morning when you hit for the gym you use that fitness app on your iPhone to keep track of your regime. You are going to meet a friend of yours who lives in that part of city you have not visited in your entire life, but guess what you traced the directions using your iPhone app and reached at your friend's house without any hassle. You are preparing for GRE/GMAT vocabulary and instead of carrying those boring flashcards now you are carrying an iPhone app, IntelliVocab (the best iPhone app, in my opinion).......And these are just few of the things, there are so many iPhone apps that you can't even imagine.

So, do you think that all these iPhone apps are built by a single company? If you do so, then you have used only few :). Don't be surprised to know that there are thousands and thousands of companies that develop really cool iPhone apps, and iPhone app development is not just there small secondary business, but this is entirely what many companies do. Yes, they just develop iPhone app. Well, don't get it wrong, it is a skill. Easier said than done !!

And now coming to the iPhone Application (App) testing, it is probably one of the most significant part of developing an iPhone App. No kidding, just imagine one day when SIRI- Apple's latest interactive bot starts abusing you in the middle of your board meeting...ROFL !! Hence, testing iPhone app is really the most important thing before it is launched in the market.

So, it not wrong to say that- because iPhone app development has increased significantly over the last few years, the market for iPhone app testing has also grown leaps and bounds during the same period. Without any surprise, iPhone app testing, being such an important part of iPhone app development cycle, has now extended to such a level that there are now businesses that specifically take care of iPhone app testing/qa part, which I believe is really important in order to make effective and the best iPhone apps.

Having said that not all companies can do the job in the most efficient manner and there are always few outstanding performers. I happen to meet one of such top performing iPhone app testing companies- Testing4Success. Testing4Success is offering iPhone application Testing/QA services to ensure the application functionality on end-user devices are not just working properly but also providing the best user experience ever. Reliability and performance of iPhone apps and their infrastructure directly impacts end users experience, and Testing4Success makes sure that no stone is unturned during the exhaustive iPhone apps testing. Sure, this company believes in creating a marvel. Great job guys !! So, in case you are looking for professional Beta Testers for your iPhone applications or tired of not getting quality reporting and feedback, you know where to go- Testing4Success.

Testing4Success is one of the leading Testing/QA providers in North America. Besides the iPhone App Testing, it provides following testing solutions- Application Testing/QA, Web Application Testing/QA, Mobile Application Testing/QA, and online ISTQB certification trainings.

I've no doubt with the latest developments in  the iPhone devices and with the ever increasing consumers, the demand for iPhone apps will continue to rise. Already, every business in the world wants to have an iPhone app of its own, and due to the domino effect, the demand and market for iPhone app testing will also continue to increase.

For clear view watch the video in full screen

"Make your project work a breeze with Trailhead: Basecamp Client for iPad"

My favorite iPhone and iPad applications development company Faqden Labs has announced the release of Trailhead, a Basecamp client for iPAD. This app provides a true mobility layer to the project management and collaboration application of 37Signals.com’s Basecamp.

So, it is good news for all the people who are either using Basecamp as their Project Management tool or planning to use it sometime soon. Trailhead is an intuitively designed iPad app that provides a slick and quick interface to your Basecamp projects. The current release of Trailhead supports the two most important functions of Basecamp i.e, Messages and To-Dos. One of the main advantage for the existing Basecamp users is that using Trailhead, you can connect to any of your Basecamp accounts and browse through all your projects. You can view, edit and add comments to your messages. It retrieves all the right people and companies that are registered with each project for you to conveniently subscribe the messages to.

The user experience and usability design is very intuitive and flexible. The app lets users jump from a certain activity in one project, directly to an entirely different activity in any another project. It consumes as few user actions as possibly can in doing so.

Some of the exciting features that Trailhead offers are-

• Browse projects
• Work with Messages and To-Dos
• Easy access to Messages: Users can View\Edit messages and also can view\edit and post new comments. The intuitive UI design makes the messages always available with one-button touch
• Flexible management of To-Dos: Users can View\Edit To-Do lists and also can view\edit and post new comments.
• Users can Create new To-Do lists or add items to existing To-Do lists right from the app, and like everything else, it is only a button touch away
• Users can drag\drop action items to re-order them, but can also re-order the to-do lists themselves.
• Users can Finish\Unfinish items and lists right from the app. You can toggle between finished and unfinished action items for convenience.
• Pick the right people and companies to subscribe items to
• Calendar feature is added. Now you can add, modify and monitor your milestones and events of your Basecamp account
• Calendar displays pins to indicate presence of events at a high level
• Remember Login, so you don’t need to enter it over and over. Convenience is the mantra!
• Login\Logout functionality

By the way for the record, Trailhead has got a phenomenal start. Trailhead Basecamp client for iPAD is 81st ranked "Productivity application" of the entire Apple app-store that too competing with 12000 other applications and climbing into the top 100 in less than 2 days from its release is simply massive !!

INTELLIVOCAB 1.2 IS ON-AIR

Hey there, I just got an update from the Faqden labs that the latest version of the best vocabulary iPhone app is live on the Apple itune store. The newest version is IntelliVocab 1.2 and it is all set for free download on the Apple itunestore.

Few of you who are still thinking what IntelliVocab is? Then let me tell you in brief about it. IntelliVocab is the best and the coolest vocabulary building iPhoneapp, and for me the amazing part is- it’s free!! IntelliVocab is basically an education app for vocabulary building and it is very useful for the people who are trying to improve their English vocabulary or who are preparing for the completive examinations such as GMAT, GRE or SAT. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to review this amazing vocabulary building iPhone app since the time it was launched. Moreover, there have been many people who have inquired about it in the past so in order to just keep everybody in the loop I keep posting the updates on what is happening on that front :) …See I’m so helpful, isn’t it?

In a brief interview from USA, the founder of the Faqden Labs, Irfan, told me that the recent version of IntelliVocab i.e. 1.2 has been launched with few interesting changes in the algorithm for providing users with better opportunities to learn English Vocabulary. There have been few amazing color coding changes to highlight the antonym questions along with the introduction of new “Rate It” feature. In this short interview the founder of the Faqden lab also revealed the staggering figures of IntelliVocab’s recent success. He said- “our app is rated as the top 3 app in the Education category on the Apple’s App-store. We have handsomely defeated the other 34963 apps in education category to reach this amazing feat. It’s amazing because we have achieved this within 2 weeks of our first release”.

So, once again the latest features added to the coolest vocabulary building iPhone app in IntelliVocab 1.2 are:

1. Improved algorithm to mix up the practice words with different characters
2. Added “Rate It” feature
3. Added color coding to highlight the antonym question

IntelliVocab 1.2 is an amazing iPhone app and I insist you to try it after all few good things in the world are still free ;)

IPHONE APPS BUSINESS: AN INSIGHT FOR DUMMIES

With the popularity of iPhone (for that matter Apple’s all other products such as iPad and iPod Touch) in the global market, the iPhone application market has evolved like never before. There are thousands and thousands of iPhone applications in the market these days. The iPhone apps market has become an ocean of all sorts of apps. Yet, it’s very easy to distinguish a good iPhone app from a bad one. Yes, I’m claiming that not all iPhone apps are up to the mark or as desirable as the hi-tech iPhone/iPad users would want to have.

I thought about this massive explosion of iPhone apps into the market and for no doubt whatsoever it’s the Apple’s well laid strategy to allow anyone or everyone to develop iPhone apps at will. As a result, not only Apple made a significant progress in spreading the iPhone/iPad businesses but also gained a fresh insight into its products from the hi-tech and developers community. What came next was the keen interest of the corporate world, mostly in mobile industry, to develop apps on the Apple’s platform. Certainly, this was a win-win situation for both the Apple Inc. and the developers of the iPhone apps.

Yet, I would want to highlight the negative side of the iPhone apps evolution. There are iPhone developers and iPhone app developing companies (few startups, few big ones) everyone is trying its very own ideas, few with some vision and others just like that. End result is market with flooded with the iPhone apps.

From a business point of view, the competition is intense, and it takes a lot to turn an iPhone app into a real success. For a company to cope up within the iPhone apps market it is just not about developing a good iPhone app but also about making it available to the target audiences; And if you are thinking it’s just about marketing than you are wrong. It is really important for the developer’s community to first be ultra clear about what app it is trying to develop, who will be using it and what you expect to do about the iPhone app in the future (one time app or any updates in future??) . Market research is so very important aspect of iPhone app business, be it identifying what app you want to develop or what niche domain you are trying to get in, everything has to be clearly defined before any development starts. In fact, Market research also identifies the target audiences and marketing strategy beforehand in order to avoid clueless strategy for selling the app later in the game.

One start-up that has a clear vision of where it’s going and where it wants to be is Faqden labs. I got this rare and invaluable opportunity to review the firstiPhone application that Faqden labs developed. The iPhone app that I reviewed was named “INTELLIVOCAB for GRE GMAT”. I predicted it to be an instance winner with its excellent user interface and even better analytics for learning the GRE/GMAT EnglishVocabulary, and I’m glad it simply produced the results the way I thought it would. It became an instant hit, and is among the top 5 apps in Educational apps today of Apple iTune Store. I have no doubt whatsoever that “INTELLIVOCABfor GRE GMAT” is the best vocabulary building iPhone app in the market at the moment. Recently, Faqden labs launched a similar product with specific focus of SAT students called “INTELLIVOCAB for SAT”. “INTELLIVOCAB for SAT” has a superb UI and analytics just as “INTELLIVOCAB for GRE GMAT” has. “INTELLIVOCAB for SAT” certainly looks the better improved version of Faqden’s first iPhone app. For SAT students take my world “INTELLIVOCAB for SAT” is the best vocabulary building app.

From a user point of view, there is a swamp of iPhone applications out there and buying an iPhone app is one thing but identifying the app that he wants to buy has become an extremely challenging activity on its own. This has evolved a business of another kind i.e. companies like Appolicious who are maintaining the directory for iPhone apps and help users narrow down on their choices. Basically, such businesses are weeding out the unwanted apps on the choices of users and their own intelligent logic. Amazing!! Now we have got softwares to churn out iPhone apps, it is like having an app for sorting out the apps, what a vicious circle :) :) .......
