The Very Special People

A few days ago there was this really huge hype all around the world about the Earth Hour, and the same hype reached to India as well. Pretty much everyday before the Earth Hour day, there would be something in the newspapers about it. Few big companies decided to celebrate the occasion at their India centers, also there were few people who happily wanted to be part of it, but overall the response to it was null. The reason was very simple- Earth Hour is of relevance to only those countries where there is 24x7 power supplies, in countries like India where people almost everyday celebrate Earth Hours, it really doesn’t make sense.

A thought provokes a new thought, and I got this pitiful thought on the day of Earth Hour. In India, the infrastructure is yet so far away from the basic needs of common man that 24x7 power supply is still a big dream. As per the experts there is 22% power shortage on average in India during the peak hours between 5pm and 11pm, and it is anticipated that the number could be higher. Anyway, I m sure the figures don’t show the real picture because there are still so many places in India where there is no electricity et al. People will survive in dark using candles etc, children will study in candle lights, the condition is so bad.

The government has yet not taken severe steps to improve anything, and the best answer they came up was- the situation will improve only after the onset of the monsoon rains. I just wonder we make a huge fuss about the GDP growth of 9% annually, we make a huge fuss about the hot job market, we create unwanted violence for religious and caste issue, but there is nothing done to improve the basic needs at grass-root level. The infrastructure especially the power infrastructure is so pathetic that even after paying so much money in taxes to government nothing has been done. India’s track record in adding power generating capacity is poor- in the last 5 years, the country has just added 20,550MW of capacity, against a target of 42,000MW.

It’s high team, we all focus on the basic needs first, otherwise just imagine what will be the use of buying air conditioners when there is no power to turn them on. Let’s do our bit first, let’s conserve and preserve by using the electricity efficiently. Let each one of us spread the awareness about it, let invent and discover various sources of energy that can make our future better. Let’s do it now !!

When I opened my eyes, you were the first I saw.
When I moved my hands, you were the first to hold them.
When I cried from hunger, only you would understand.

When I spoke my first words, you smiled with tears in your eyes.
When I took my first step, you cried in joy.
When you would be with me, I would never feel lonely.

You would help me dress for school everyday,
You would pack my lunch daily.
You would pray for me each day.
You would help me in my homework everyday.
You would give me the best meals daily.

Whenever I was sad, you would come to me.
Whenever I was disappointed, you would encourage me.
When I went to the residential school, you would send so many things to me.
You would send me letters regularly, you would miss me daily.

When I had my college exams, you would give me the comfortable environment.
You would do the dishes quietly, you wouldn’t let anybody watch TV.
When I went for work, you would always bless me.
Whenever I called you, you would talk short to save me money.

Before I could utter a word, you would understand.
Before I could ask anything, you would get it for me.
You would do all the sacrifices for me.
You would be happy to see me happy.
O mother you have done everything for me.

Thank you for always guiding me mom,
Thank you for always being there for me.
Now I understand the real meaning of the motherhood.
If there is God on the earth, it could be only you my dear mom.
Thank you for everything mom.

P.S. Thanks to BlogAdda for a contest that made me write this very special poem for my mom. I thought about it many times but this is the first time I have actually written something for my sweet mom.
It was a special day and It became all the very much special today morning when I set my hello-tune with the song meri maa..mumma (Dasvidaniyan movie) for my mom. I told her to call me and she felt so delighted to hear that song. I felt equally happy to see my mother. Please do express your love for your loved ones, life is short. Every mother loves her children but that doesn't mean we should take her for granted, instead make her feel special the way she has been treating you since your birth. The mother is so special, so please make her feel special.

I have been hearing the quote- “Health Is Wealth” since childhood and now when I m earning, I literally understand it. Just imagine a day in your life when you are not feeling well, you almost cannot do anything properly as you are physically not fit. As a result you forcefully have to take an off from your work and literally that means you are going to lose your pay or business for that day. Moreover, there are medical expanses that follow, and unless you don’t have a medical coverage the situation will create a big hole in your pocket through which the cash will go out uncontrollably.

Since all across the world the medical expanses are so high that they are almost impossible for an individual to sustain without a proper health insurance. Now by definition health insurance is – an insurance that pays for medical expenses. It is sometimes broadly include insurance covering disability or long-term nursing or custodial care needs. It may be provided through a government-sponsored social insurance program, or from private insurance companies, but the real problem occurs when you are neither covered for medical insurance by your employer nor by your government, and that is the situation where one thinks- if I get ill, it will take years for me to recover from it because even though the physical recovery from a disease or an injury might take very less time but the financial losses could be terrible that may cause financial crunch for some good amount of time. Just imagine yourself living life with such a stress of financial fear, you almost every single second think of not getting sick but otherwise you are kind of already sick of this insecurity. So, you decide to go out of your shell and think of getting your health insurance done, but then you again get into the dilemma of selecting the right affordable health insurance, isn’t it?

Picking up the best health insurance policy is even trickier but once you get it right the life is easier and better. Two very basic types of health insurances are- HMO and PPO. HMO is called Health Maintenance Organization, it is the most inexpensive of the plans, but there are limits as to the doctors you can see and those who participate. Costs are less but so are choices. Referrals are required to see specialists. HMOs tend to focus on preventive care to help keep the members healthy. PPO is called Preferred Provider Organization, plans offer more choices and do not require referrals within a select group. Finding a low cost health insurance is simpler than most people think. When you are looking for a low-priced insurance, you want the lowest price annually that will match your pocket, naturally. You surely don’t want an unaffordable costly insurance policy.

The internet has made our lives very easy, and finding a perfect health insurance plan is very simple now. You can easily search for the free health insurance quotes on the internet, but you don’t want to go with just any company. If you are looking for the best health insurance, you’ve to go to the right place, and, in just a few mouse clicks, you can find an online health insurance plan, but again its easier said then done. We all need references to the best links and here is one of them that I found useful- America-Health-Insurance, its pretty much what we all need. Remember, health insurances are no big puzzles but you need to find the best, so better find it soon and please keep your health first.
