DELHI BELLY- EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC

Bollywood is famous not just for making so many movies each year but also for making some really good music. Indian cinema is turning experimental but I think Bollywood Music is still lagging behind. Yes, it has changed from what it was in the older time, but it hasn’t been as experimental as the movies are.

The recent Bollywood movie to experiment with its music is “Delhi Belly”. The music of the movie is so different. I have to say that I haven’t seen such an experimental music for long now. The music is so cool…I’m loving it!! Good job by the music composers of Delhi Belly.

I thought I would give you all the taste of this latest Bollywood music from the movie “Delhi Belly”. I’m sharing couple of the songs that are becoming a rage these days in India.

TANU WEDS MANU- THE MOVIE REVIEW

I saw “Tanu Weds Manu” yesterday night. “Tanu Weds Manu” is the latest Bollywood release this week. The movie stars- R.Madhavan, the best south Indian actor in the Bollywood, and the actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. Tanu Weds Manu is a typical Bollywood romantic comedy.

The movie is about a Doctor i.e. Manu, who works in London, comes to India for marrying the Indian girl when his parents pressurize him. Incidentally, Manu goes to see Tanu with his parents to Kanpur. Tanu is a spoiled Indian girl who doesn’t believe in arranged marriages, she loves drinking, smoking and boy-friends :) :)

Somehow, Manu finds the girl very beautiful and says yes for the marriage, but Tanu is not convinced. So, Tanu convinces Manu to say no for the marriage as she cannot say no to her parents. Then, the drama continues and the marriage is called off. Somehow, Tanu and Manu meet again at a common friends marriage (a Punjabi wedding) where they become more than friends, but there is a twist- Tanu has a brat boyfriend, played by Jimmy Shergill, who wants to marry her. Tanu is confused about the marriage as she starts loving Manu. The story then follows up with some more twists and turns and finally, Tanu and Manu gets married.

The first half of the movie is wonderful, especially the comedy in the first half of the movie steals the show. Tanu Weds Manu has been shot in the local streets and houses in places like Kanpur, Lucknow, Delhi and Kapurthala, which makes the scenes look realistic, and common people can relate to it. Both Madhavan and Kangana has done a great job along with other supporting actors in the main roles such as Pappi Singh (Manu’s close companion), Jaspreet (Manu’s best friend), and Payal (Tanu’s best friend). “Tanu Weds Manu” has a strong pre intermission story, but after the interval the movie becomes really slow and predictable. You will start feeling the movie has been dragged, and the director got confused with the ending of the movie.

The Punjabi Song- Saadi Gali in the marriage setup is very popular these days and is by far the best song of the movie. The first half of the movie is really good and I feel like giving it 4 out of 5 stars, but the second half is a total disappointment so my rating is 2.5 out of 5 stars for Tanu Weds Manu. Overall, it’s a one time watch and good job by all the actors despite a weak story. Check out this cool trailer of “Tanu Weds Manu”-

DABANGG-IFIED

Very recently I saw a Bollywood Hindi movie called 'Dabangg'. Its a completely Bollywood masala movie and Salman khan, the lead of the movie, stole the show. His acting as a corrupt cop is awesome. Actually, the movie is centered on Salman Khan and if you are a Salman Khan fan then you will regret missing it. A perfect 'chulbul' role played by Salman as Chulbul Pandey. The music and the songs are already so popular especially "Munni badnaam hui" is such a big hit.

Overall, the movie is fantastic, and Salman's acting and his own very special style was a perfect fit for the role. Salman Khan is surely back, back with the bang.!! Salman Rocks !!

I got inspired by Sallu bhai and tried his special Dabanggified glasses. So, what you think? Isn't it like the real Dabangg ??.... :-) :-) :-)

KITES- THE MOVIE REVIEW

Finally, I watched ‘Kites’ tonight. After a lot of hype and media attention the expectations were certainly high, and as I entered the theatre I was filled with super excitement. Now its 2a.m. post-screening of the ‘Kites’ and I’m still humming the songs of the movie, starting all the way from the exit of the theatre followed by my way back to home in my car and even after that till I started writing this movie review. The music of the movie is so melodious, and you start liking it even more when you have watched the movie. Hrithik Roshan, the super star looked like a Greek God with his well chiseled body. His dancing style, his acting, and his stunts nothing disappointed, he was so immaculate and no doubt, he played a master stroke. Barbara Mori, didn’t disappoint either. She looked gorgeous as the Mexican girls are, but her acting, her stunts, and her screen presence certainly tumbled many a hearts in the audiences. Yet the real show-stealer for me was the love. The love between Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan is depicted so well in the movie, the chemistry between both the actors came out with so much perfection. I felt like fallin in love all over again.

The movie is well made, it’s been crafted so well that I didn’t feel like watching a regular Bollywood movie, but for me the ‘Kites’ was like a Hollywood movie. I think it’s the first time ever when Bollywood has succeeded in making a movie that is of International standards, which can be watched by audiences all across the globe. A Special applause for the makers of the ‘Kites’, they have just created a movie, which India can proudly say- it’s an Indian movie for the global audiences. The picturization and the locations of the ‘Kites’ were a visual pleasure. Hrithik’s final scene in the movie quiet well justified why there was a buzz about his Jesus like looks in the tinsel town of Hollywood.

Overall, it’s a big thumps up for the ‘Kites’. I’m thrilled to see Hrithik Roshan in the movie and for the directors around the world here is one very special bollywood actor who is no less than a Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson. I’m sure Hrithik’s Kite is going to fly high till it reaches the western doors of Hollywood, before we soon hear that he is doing an International project. To sum up everything in one shot- “ Kites” is wonderful, the movie is unique, it’s an International movie and I loved it!!

P.S. This is my first ever movie review, I’m not good at it but the Kites forced me to share what I felt J… And Karan Johar this review is NOT from the critics, finally there are audiences. So, Just Spread The Love!! 

Why Bachchan's Having Trouble Praising SLUMDOG ..

Its done and more of a well applauded fact with the whole world now that SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE has won 8 Oscars.At one side where whole world is going bizzare over the movie and its well acclaimed cast including all Indians but on the other hand its been still eluding to hear any word of praise from the number 1 family of Indian Cinema. Yes, the Bachchan's are surely not impressed with the Slumdog, first it was the Big B, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who was criticizing the movie in public through his blog and in the media and now it seems like the pendulum has been passed to his daughter in law Mrs.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.As per Aishwarya the movie is "just another movie" with nothing as special about it, instead she even did not want to talk furthur about it but diplomatically moved away from the discussion by praising the oscar winners Rehman and Resul.
Ironically, Slumdog Millionaire had a scene where the Shahenshah of Bollywood lands in his helicopter near the slums of dharavi and the crowd goes bizzark for having the glimse of there own superstar.Unfortunatly, the original Mr.BIG B was never called by Mr.Danny Boyle to play the role in the oscar winning film and still being used in a virtual character without even being shown the face of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.And ofcourse, the reel Slumdog Millionaire Jamal did take Mr.Bachchan's autograph in the movie and went ahead in the millionaire game with answering the question on Mr.Bachchan.
Probably, thats the rootcause of Bachchan's being having bad mouth about the movie and not yet applauded the movie whole-heartedly. Yes, its really bad when you are being used as a character in the movie and that too of utmost importance(of such a big stature and being part of the question faced by Jamal on his road to being a millionaire) and still have not actually acted in it. Moreover, the agony goes a level or two more up on hearing that the movie has been winning all the awards in the world including 8 Oscars.Secondly, the movie is still pulling in crowds giving nowhere stands to other movies like Pink Panther(starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan),Delhi-6(starring Abhishek Bachchan) which is making again the Bachchan's in an agony for the movie not doing well on box-office because of competition at certain extent.
Anyways, we still love the Bachchan's and since the theme of the world at this moment of time is SLUMDOG..So, lets say together JAI HO......!!
