SUPERWOMAN: THE REAL BEAUTY

With my eyes shut and body lying on the bed I felt I heard something. I’m still hearing it, but I could not make out what it is. I tried to open my dosed eyes and I saw the light coming from the adjacent room. At once my mind could not figure out why is it so? Despite the great laziness my mind still forces me to check what it is. While I was trying to pull my body off the bed I saw a blurry image of a lady dressed in her sports gear with a bag hanging across her body from her right shoulder to the left side of her waist. She waves to me, I realize who it is and automatically my eyes shut again…ZzZzzz

The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart   ~ Helen Keller

Again, I heard something. This time it’s a little loud, I recognize somebody calling my name, then there are tremors, I realize it’s my body, somebody is shaking it. I try to open my eyes with huge difficulty as slowly as possible and I see a lady passing me over a cup of tea. Now I sip in some tea and before I could open my mouth, she says- “the newspaper is on the table”. I turn to my right, pick up the newspaper and start getting back to my complete senses. As I sip through my tea, I feel so happy not just because the tea is simply perfect but also because she is sitting along with me while having her egg-whites with oats and milk. I try to read the newspaper but I see her face and it is glowing like the sunshine, I don’t know why but I assume it as a post work out effect. I read my newspaper and she continues with her breakfast, we talk about few things that are there in the newspaper.

As soon as I leave for the bathroom, she leaves for the kitchen. While I’m in the bathroom, I could hear the sound of the utensils. When I come out of the bathroom after taking bath, she is still in the kitchen, but within a flash I see her in front of my eyes handing me over my breakfast. I say- thank you and she smiles and rushes back to kitchen again. I see her tasting the food she prepared and making sure everything is perfect. Then I see her, putting everything in storage utensils. After that she comes to me and says- today’s dinner is ready. I smile and say to her- fantastic, you rock !!

Joy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift.

Then she starts getting ready for her office. Before I could realize she transforms into her new avatar. In the span of couple of hours, I have witnessed her transforming from being a fitness freak, who went for the exercise, to a housewife, who cooked the food, and then from a housewife to a smart working woman, who is all set to leave for the office in her formals. I see towards her and say- SuperWoman!! She smiles and picks her laptop bag indicating we are set to leave now.

Next, 9.5 hours she is busy in her job, but still she calls me at least once. She will ask me if I had my lunch and I realize she is more worried for my lunch as she doesn’t cook it for me. She asks me if the food was alright and I’ll ask the same to her. We talk about our day, how is it going and meanwhile, I could still feel that zeal and extra energy in her while she is at work. Awesome!! In real amazement I say to myself- she is doing great at her work too.

Beauty... is the shadow of God on the universe. ~ Gabriela Mistral

I admire her capability to juggle so many roles at once. She fits so well in everything she does. She is indeed a SUPERWOMAN, simply sublime. For me out of all aspects other than her physical appearance, the real beauty is in her attitude and in her enormous capability to transform at will. The woman who is married, who is working, who has a family and who believes in keeping herself fit.
To me she is the symbol of love, an inspiration, a powerhouse and the most beautiful woman in the world.

PICTURES SPEAK

I’m writing this post especially for the blogadda’sTravel Photos’ contest. As part of the contest, I’m going to post five of my favorite and best photographs during my all travels. This contest is really a treat for somebody like me, who very recently got stung by the camera’s aperture and shutter speed. So, here we go!!…..Too much excitement, isn’t it? But I kind of love starting the new things by saying ‘here we go’ as it brings my energy-levels to the same as Vin Diesel’s just before the start of the race in the movie “The Fast and The Furious”…O COM ‘on I’m just kidding :) .

Just about a month ago, when it was getting really hectic and boring, my wife and I decided to take a break, and eloped to celebrate our very first wedding anniversary in GOA, and by god, it was the most amazing time of our lives. Goa blended with its splendid heritage, delicious sea food, and refreshing beaches intoxicated both of us in a state of amnesia about the forgotten busy city life back home. Sitting on the Goan beaches, right under the wooden shacks within the constant vigilance of the shack owners to provide us the best hospitality, we braced the wind coming from the sea that reincarnated the old sweet pleasure back into our lives. So, I’m sure that by now you might have guessed it correctly that all my pictures are coming from our trip to GOA.

My first picture is called-“The Tranquil”. This picture is taken just before the evening at the Arossim Beach in South Goa. The Arossim Beach is no doubt Goa’s most clean and less crowded beach, and as you walk through the sea shore you would only hear the sound of sea waves coming across you minus all other voices on the beach. Just by looking at the sea you will fell for the voodoo of the sea waves, tranquility will fill your heart and soul with the utmost soothing and calming moment of your life. This picture just brings back the same tranquility that I witnessed so I named it as “The Tranquil”.

The second picture is called-“The Childhood”. As soon as you start walking on the beaches, the sand brings out your playful nature. You start playing the games with the sand, you write something on the sand, you print your marks on the sand or you make something from the sand. Unknowingly, you are pushed into a child’s play, you enjoy it to the core and you have fun with it. This picture shows the sand-homes that brought our childhood back I hope you feel the same after seeing it.

The third picture is of the Fort Aguada Light House, and it is called-“The Memorial”. The Fort Aguada is a well preserved 17th century Portuguese fort on Sinquerim beach overlooking the vast Arabian sea. The 4-storey Portuguese lighthouse was erected in 1864 and it’s the oldest of its kind in Asia. Sometimes I feel really amazed with the fact that how everyone of us want to click their photograph with the historical monuments and the great memorials, and unknowingly it’s been added to the memorials of our own lives in the form of picture-albums. The picture also depicts the tourist clicking their photographs with the Light House in behind, clicking the old memorial and creating a new one.

The forth picture is called-“The Escapade”. People really enjoy the adventure sports available on the Goan beaches, and one of them is “Paragliding”. People love the adventure of flying in the air on their parachutes. The feeling of flying above the deep blue sea is amazing. So, in this picture I caught a real adventurer flying over the deep blue sea and enjoying the ride.

The last and final picture is called-“The Romance”. They say it- “Listen to the free feeling of love every sunset”, and as we walked on the beach together holding our hands, watching the sunset, we fell in love all over again. The sea, the sunset and us, together made a lovely moment of life. I hope you feel like walking on the beach during the sunset holding your partner on watching this picture.

TIME TRAVEL

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 8; the eighth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.

I felt the pain in my head, a very severe headache. I tried to open my eyes, but there was a bright light coming straight into my eyes. It was all blurred. Before I could even visualize anything clearly, I got hit by a bamboo cane, and then there was another blow. I shouted in pain but the assault didn't stop, I got thrashed again and again. Sometimes, I could feel more than one blow at a time. Yes, I realized they were all after me. I shouted but it didn't stop instead it followed with the big black leather boots coming from all directions, hitting me hard everywhere on my body where ever they could find space. I could feel the throttle in my breath as I tried to hide my face against the earth. The mud was all over me, I could feel the heat both from the surface of the earth and from every single portion of my body. I could feel my whole body totally wet, but it was hard to distinguish between the blood and the sweat.

Suddenly, I heard a bold manly voice abusing me. The blurry image started becoming clearer and I could still not hear anything properly, but finally I could see one of them. He was dressed in a red and white bright colored military uniform, a white leather belt around his waist, a row of lustrous medallions starting from both ends of his chest towards the center, a black colored hat on his head, and the shoulder batches shinning in the bright sun with 'East India Company' embedded over them. He was white, tall with broad athletic body like a gigantic hulk. There were two others with him similarly dressed but of lower rung with lesser medallions on their uniforms. They were all at me, hitting me, abusing me and simultaneously repeating one thing- "You bloody farmer, how dare you don't pay us the tax!!"

I could barely move my body to run away from them. I had already lost all my energy to react or to say anything, only my eyes were witnessing the assault on my half numb body. Suddenly, I heard the outbreak of few distant voices approaching towards us with the slogan of-"East India Company, Murdabad, Murdabad; Hindustan Zindabad, Hindustan Zindabad !!". The assault came to the halt. The voices became even louder, though I could hardly see with my injured eyes yet it was evident that it was a group of 5-6 people. My eyes started shutting down, I could hardly see whats happening, but I can hear the huge cries. I could feel while lying on the ground that both the groups were fighting with each other. Abruptly, I heard gun shots, one after the other, six in a row. I could hear those last cries and then there was a complete moment of mourn.

I tried to open my eyes and saw a pistol heading towards me. I got scared and I started saying my prayers. The pistol was placed at the center of my forehead and I heard an English voice- "Kill him!!". I could feel the sound of the pistol's trigger in its process of being pressed, but suddenly I heard a voice and felt being shaken by someone. I said- What? She replied-"Why cannot you sleep nice and quiet? Its too late, we have to go office tomorrow". I realized it was a dream but felt nice that my wife saved my life. I smiled, kissed my wife and slept again.
